Product Profile
Schroder & Schyler is a Wine Merchant established in Bordeaux in 1739, standing as one of the oldest family owned Company in France! The same family also owns Chateau Kirwan, AOC Margaux 1855 classified growth. Specialising in the selection of Grands Crus and small
châteaux, the company is a proven expert inwinemaking and brand creation.
One of their properties is Chateau Peyronat. A small sized property, with an owner who is enamoured by his region, the Gironde river, and the natural resources it offers. So much so, that one can feel it in his wines, full of truth, authenticity, and simplicity.
Winemaking
The Merlot 90%, Cabernet Sauvignon 10% grapes come from a vineyard of 14 ha driven with the most care possible towards environment in a “full nature spirit”.
The soil is ploughed, enriched, no chemical
weeding, no use of insecticide, and this way, during winter you can find the delicate wild corn salad, the “baragane”, a kind of vine leak with powerful
taste and sugar.
All the grapes are hand-picked by 20 pickers, with an
additional manual sorting. Fermentation and ageing is in stainless steel.
Tasting Note
A very expressive nose of red fruit (cherry)
and a hint of caramel is followed by an extremely supple and round taste. The finish is perfect: clean, lively and refreshing on a base of fruit and savoury
flavors.
