Product Profile

Nativ Srl, was born in the heart of Irpinia, in Southern Italy, by oenoligist Dr. Mario Ercolino and  food scientist Dr. Roberta Pirone. Their aim was to work closely with growers to create excellent expressions of the local wines.

The name Nativ was chosen to illustrate this dedication to local specialisms.

Founded in 2008, the company makes the typical wines of Southern Italy including Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo, Falanghina, Aglianico and Aglianico of Taurasi. They have a range of owned vineyards but also work with local growers to make sure grape quality is high.

Later, Nativ also acquired some top vineyards in Sicily under the name Compagnia Siciliana 1921.

Winemaking

Made from 100% syrah grapes grown on calcareous soils. The grapes ferment over 12 days to extract colour and flavour. The wine ages for 6 months in barrique after fermentation

Tasting Note

Ruby red color with light violet reflections; elegant and complex taste with hints of black mulberry, liquorice, blueberry and currant; on the palate it is balanced and with good acidity
