Product Profile

Château Gilbert & Gaillard has a firm rooting in the heart of the garrigue-clad countryside, in a Natura 2000 protected area, in the Saint-Chinian appellation area, Languedoc-Roussillon. Its exceptional vineyard sites unfurl across its clay-limestone hills at elevations ranging from 150 to 210 metres above sea level. Its red wines blended from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre combine freshness, minerality and superior aromatic expression.

Situated in the village of Puisserguier, in the Saint-Chinian appellation area in the heart of Hérault, the estate extends over more than 55 hectares including 33 hectares under vine.

Vineyard blocks, woodland and garrigue alternate at Château Gilbert & Gaillard where every effort is made to safeguard and promote biodiversity, with the introduction of bee hives, upkeep of hedges and trees, introduction of bat roosts, etc.

Winemaking

This wine is a blend of Syrah 75%, Grenache 20%, Mourvèdre 5%. The grapes are destemmed and sorted by hand. Vatting lasts around three weeks.

The wine is aged 100% in new barrels for two years after racking.

Tasting Note

A deep nose,
open, combining very pure fruit with subtle woody notes,
spicy, tobacco. The mouth seduces with its velvety texture, its
contained power and enveloping freshness. A great wine!
