Chateau Gilbert & Gaillard St Chinian 'Pour les Amis'

Château Gilbert & Gaillard has a firm rooting in the heart of the garrigue-clad countryside, in a Natura 2000 protected area, in the Saint-Chinian appellation area, Languedoc-Roussillon. Its exceptional vineyard sites unfurl across its clay-limestone hills at elevations ranging from 150 to 210 metres above sea level. Its red wines blended from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre combine freshness, minerality and superior aromatic expression.

Situated in the village of Puisserguier, in the Saint-Chinian appellation area in the heart of Hérault, the estate extends over more than 55 hectares including 33 hectares under vine. Vineyard blocks, woodland and garrigue alternate at Château Gilbert & Gaillard where every effort is made to safeguard and promote biodiversity, with the introduction of bee hives, upkeep of hedges and trees, introduction of bat roosts, etc

A blend of Syrah, Grenache & Mourvedre from 25 year old vines planted on a clay-limestone plateau.

The grapes are destemmed and sorted manually on belts then placed in vats where fermentation takes place over 7-10 days

Dark, purple color. Intense nose of red and black fruits set against a discreet mineral background. The palate, while supple, reveals a pleasant fruity and spicy intensity supported by a sensation of freshness.
