The winemaking is expertly guided by acclaimed Winemaker Dana Epperson, known for her versatility across various grape varieties and regions. Decoy's portfolio encompasses a comprehensive range of varietals, including a noteworthy Red Blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé, and Brut Cuvée. In 2020, the winery further elevated its offering with the introduction of Decoy Limited, a selection of small-production wines sourced from California's most esteemed wine regions.
How is it made?

The 2022 Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from a precise blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Merlot. The 2022 harvest, characterized by warm weather and steady monitoring, allowed for the meticulous selection and picking of grapes at peak ripeness, concluding in late October. This specific vintage was aged for 18 months in 100% French oak barrels, with 40% new and 60% neutral oak, a process that imparts complexity and structure while respecting the fruit's integrity.
What does it taste like?

This Cabernet Sauvignon presents rich and inviting aromas of blackberry and blueberry, complemented by subtle hints of baking spice and black pepper. On the palate, it is full-bodied and vibrant, bursting with juicy fruit characteristics. The wine is well-structured with strong tannins, leading to a bold and smooth finish that carries a touch of spice.
