Who makes it?

Château Puybarbe has existed for many centuries with winemaking activities going back to 1895. They are based Côtes de Bourg, one of the oldest Bordeaux AOCs (“Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée”). It is situated 35 km north-west of Bordeaux on the Right Bank of Garonne and
Dordogne rivers around the town Bourg-sur-Gironde.

How is it made?

A blend of 88% merlot with 12% cabernet sauvignon - the wine is fermented in stainless steel before ageing in oak barrels for 10-12 months.

What does it taste like?

Lovely red wine with fragrant aromas and lively flavors of dark plum, currants, green olive, white pepper and mineral. Ripe, tangy and vivacious with a long spicy finish. Fantastic balance and brilliant from start to finish. A true gem for the price.
