Product Profile
Nativ Srl, was born in the heart of Irpinia, in Southern Italy, by oenoligist Dr. Mario Ercolino and food scientist Dr. Roberta Pirone. Their aim was to work closely with growers to create excellent expressions of the local wines.
The name Nativ was chosen to illustrate this dedication to local specialisms.
Founded in 2008, the company makes the typical wines of Southern Italy including Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo, Falanghina, Aglianico and Aglianico of Taurasi. They have a range of owned vineyards but also work with local growers to make sure grape quality is high.
Winemaking
An ancient grape variety, of which we find the earliest traces in Pliny the Elder; the Apian grapes, from which today's Fiano derives its name, were characterized by an intense sweetness and therefore particularly loved by bees. The grape grows best on deep soils, rich in micro mineral elements, very soft and of volcanic origin, typical of the hills surrounding Avellino.
Grapes are whole cluster pressed and cold settled before a fermentation with selected yeasts in stainless steel.
Tasting Note
Harmonious on the palate with good acidity, Yellow-colored wine, fruity and light aroma, with notes of hawthorn, fresh, soft, savory.
