Who makes it?

Step back to 1831, when Bernard Bichot laid the first stone of what would become a Burgundian empire in Beaune. While many family businesses fizzle out by the second generation, the Bichots have been playing a high-stakes game of "passing the cork" for centuries. Today, the visionary Alberic Bichot leads the charge, having transformed Maison Albert Bichot into a powerhouse of terroir-driven excellence. From the crisp northern reaches of Chablis to the prestigious Côte d'Or, the estate manages legendary domaines like Long-Depaquit and Clos Frantin. When you pour a glass of Albert Bichot, you aren’t just drinking wine; you’re sipping on nearly 200 years of French viticultural history that’s been polished to a high-end shine.

How is it made?

Located north of the Grand Crus, “Fourchaume” is the largest Premier Cru with a surface area of 320 acres.
The vines are planted on a south-southwest facing slope that is well protected from the north winds. Heat tends to accumulate in this area, which allows the growth cycle to get off to an early start. The vineyard has rather deep, well-drained soil composed of limestone and brown clay.

Fermentation takes place in a combination of 65% in stainless steel vats and 35% in 1 to 5-year-old oak barrels. Ageing takes place in the same combination of vessels for 9 months on fines lees before blending and a further rest in stainless steel vats for 2 months.

What does it taste like?

Sophisticated nose featuring floral and mineral notes. The palate is rich, intense, and extremely elegant. Long, fresh finish. Perfect for seafood such as scallops or prawns, or with raw, marinated or grilled fish with sesame and avocado.
