Who makes it?

Founded in the heart of Beaune in 1831, Maison Albert Bichot is a cornerstone of Burgundian winemaking with nearly two centuries of history. Established by Bernard Bichot, the house has remained a family-led endeavor for generations. Today, under the visionary leadership of Alberic Bichot, the estate has undergone a significant revitalization. By focusing on a "domaine-based" philosophy, the family oversees prestigious estates across the region, including Domaine Long-Depaquit in Chablis and Clos Frantin in the Côte de Nuits. This commitment to legacy and quality ensures that every bottle bearing the Albert Bichot name carries the weight of five generations of expertise.

How is it made?

The excellence of Albert Bichot wines begins in the soil, where vineyard manager Christophe Chavel has championed sustainable practices since 2000. Every plot is meticulously ploughed without the use of chemical fertilizers to maintain the natural integrity of the land. Under the technical direction of Alain Serveau, the grapes undergo fermentation in traditional wooden vats, utilizing only natural yeasts to express the unique character of each parcel. The maturation process is handled with precision; wines are aged in oak barrels with a careful eye on the proportion of new wood—ranging from 20% for village wines to a more robust 100% for Grands Crus—ensuring the fruit remains the star of the show.

What does it taste like?

The nose features scents of red and black fruit (raspberry, cherry,
blackcurrant…) combined with wilder notes. The palate is delectable,
fleshy and finely structured. The finish is long and harmonious.
