Who makes it?

Château de Parenchère rises in the heart of a green and hilly landscape situated 38 km from Saint-Emilion, at the crossroads of the Gironde and the Dordogne departments.
It therefore benefits from a very particular Terroir in Bordeaux, composed of clay-limestone with a high clay content, which partly explains the strength of the wines produced on the vineyard.

On this vast estate of 188 HA, only the best plots on hillsides have been selected to constitute a beautiful vineyard of 60 HA of which the oldest vines are over 60 years old.

How is it made?

The estate’s traditional wine is produced using vines aged 20 years on average and is usually composed mainly of Merlot, with the complement of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Therefore, the blend is generally around :

80% Merlot

20% Cabernet Sauvignon

This assemblage, however, varies according to the vintage in order to favor the most supple and aromatic cuvées.

Merlot gives it suppleness, fruitiness and roundness; Cabernet-Sauvignon provides structure and additional tannic density.

What does it taste like?

This traditional Parenchère blend is generally very fleshy, with a very deeply colored robe. Characterized by a good balance between fruit and tannin, it displays distinct red fruit aromas with a long, sustained finish.
