Who makes it?

Established in 1985, Domaine du Grand Mayne has grown from a passionate vision into a pioneering model of community-driven viticulture. Located in the heart of the French countryside, the estate gained international acclaim as the country’s first and the world’s second-largest crowd-funded vineyard, now boasting a dedicated family of over 650 shareholders. This rich human history was sparked by a desire to share the authentic winemaking experience directly with enthusiasts, a philosophy that remains at the core of the domain today. By blending traditional expertise with a modern, inclusive approach, the estate continues to produce multi-award-winning wines made by wine lovers, for wine lovers.

How is it made?

The estate’s 34 hectares of vines flourish within the prestigious Côtes de Duras appellation, benefiting from a unique micro-climate protected by the Lot and Garonne valleys. At Domaine du Grand Mayne, "terroir" is viewed as a sacred bond between nature and human intervention. The vineyard is situated on a mosaic of clay and limestone soils, which provide the perfect foundation for growing healthy Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Sémillon. Committed to sustainable agro-ecology, the team preserves a lush ecosystem of forests and natural grasses to encourage biodiversity both above and below the ground. This dedication to the land ensures that every vine captures the true essence of the environment, resulting in fruit of exceptional purity and character.

What does it taste like?

On the palate, wines from Domaine du Grand Mayne are celebrated for their sophisticated sensory identity and structured elegance. Reflecting the estate's diverse soil types, these wines often reveal a brilliant balance of vibrant fruit and subtle complexity. The limestone influence imparts a crisp, refreshing minerality to the whites, while the rich clay soils contribute to a deep, earthy soul in the reds. Whether you are enjoying a bright Sauvignon blend or a robust Cabernet, each bottle offers a harmonious finish that speaks to the team's "savoir-faire" and their commitment to excellence. It is a genuine taste of a thriving ecosystem, crafted to bring cheer and a love of life to every occasion.
