Who makes it?

Established in the heart of Bordeaux, the House of Schröder & Schÿler boasts a storied history that is inextricably linked with the grand tapestry of France. Since its founding, the merchant house has navigated some of the most pivotal moments in modern history, from conducting business on the very day the Bastille fell in 1789 to surviving the turbulent trials of the French Revolution. This resilience and commitment to the wine trade have been passed down through generations, evidenced by the adventurous spirit of explorers like Henry Schÿler, who ventured across the Atlantic in the 1880s to expand the reach of Bordeaux wines. Today, Schröder & Schÿler remains a prestigious name, blending centuries of archival wisdom with a passion for sharing the finest expressions of the region with wine lovers worldwide.

How is it made?

The exceptional quality of this Bordeaux Claret begins at Château Haut-Pingat, a charming family-owned estate situated in the renowned Entre-deux-Mers region. Spanning 14 hectares of prime vineyard land, the estate benefits from a distinctive clayey-calcareous soil that provides the perfect foundation for traditional Bordeaux varieties. The vineyard is planted with a blend of 80% Merlot, complemented by 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc, ensuring a wine of complexity and structure. To preserve the natural fruit characteristics and the unique identity of the terroir, the winemaking process follows traditional methods. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by careful aging in tanks to produce a fresh, authentic wine that captures the spirit of the French countryside.
