Who makes it?

Clos Saint Jacques is produced by Chateau Troquart, a small family estate of 5.5 hectares, located close to the village of Saint-Emilion. The winary is situated in favorable southwesterly direction on a limestone and clay "terroir". The vineyard is owned by Jean-Guy Grégoire, whose son Etienne is the person who is responsible for the wine production after finishing his vino-eonological studies.

How is it made?

The wine is produced from 70% of Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Malbec. The finalized wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months, 10% of the barrels are new.

What does it taste like?

A ruby red color with purple hues. Fragrance of blackberry and black currant. Also the palate has aromas of black berries. Present tannins which give structure, could be further rounded off by additional storage for one or two years .
