Who makes it?

Château Verdignan is a historic wine estate located in the heart of the Haut-Médoc AOC. Situated in the canton of Pauillac, the vineyard borders the prestigious Saint-Estèphe commune to the south, stretching elegantly along the Gironde estuary. As one of the oldest castles in the Médoc, the estate is a stunning example of 19th-century architecture. The terroir consists of classic gravel soils, which provide the perfect drainage and character to give Château Verdignan wines their signature complexity and "touch of magic."

How is it made?

A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc from 40 year old vines. The varieties are fermented seperately in stainless steel before the wine is blended and aged for a year in 25% new oak.

What does it taste like?

A rich and expressive nose. You’ll find primary notes of ripe blackberry and plum, interwoven with secondary and tertiary developed scents like leather, cedar, and cigar box. There is a distinct "scorched earth" or graphite minerality typical of its location near Saint-Estèphe.
