Who makes it?

Nativ Srl, was born in the heart of Irpinia, in Southern Italy, by oenoligist Dr. Mario Ercolino and  food scientist Dr. Roberta Pirone. Their aim was to work closely with growers to create excellent expressions of the local wines.

The name Nativ was chosen to illustrate this dedication to local specialisms.

Founded in 2008, the company makes the typical wines of Southern Italy including Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo, Falanghina, Aglianico and Aglianico of Taurasi. They have a range of owned vineyards but also work with local growers to make sure grape quality is high.

Later, Nativ also acquired some top vineyards in Sicily under the name Compagnia Siciliana 1921.

How is it made?

The grapes come from a vineyard on calcareous-clay soils. The grapes cold soak to extract extra colour and flavour before a 15 day ferment in stainless steel.

What does it taste like?

The wine gives a blend of dark blackberry fruit combined with floral aspects. Italian temperament and an almost Bordeaux-type classic glow in the aroma.
