Who makes it?

In 2005, with a view to revitalizing the Basque region and its culture, the Azurmendi family, Eneko and his uncle Gorka, designed a project ambitious for the Basque gastronomic and wine sector that
became the references of both sectors.

From the beginning, the objective of the winery was to promote the harvest of different varieties of local grapes and produce unique wines that reflect the great potential of this magnificent wine-growing area.

Wines come from their own 40 hectare vineyard that lies on steep slopes that sometimes reach an incline of 30%. They harvest local grape varieties called Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Zerratia that grow in very small clusters.

How is it made?

Representing the modern txakolis of Bizkaia, Gorka Izagirre is made from a native blend of Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Zerratia grapes. Grown and harvested entirely in the Basque Country in 10 vineyard plots that span 30 hectares of vineyards that we cultivate with care, in 10 plots spread over 3 valleys, each with diffrent soil characteristics, altitudes and microclimates.

What does it taste like?

Golden straw yellow, with green hues and metallic iridescence. The bouquet combines fresh apple with herbaceous ferns, white flowers and a subtle citric touch.

Round in the mouth, this glyceride wine is well-balanced with a fresh fruit sensation and bitter dry fruit perfectly blended for a smooth finish.
