The Spirit of County Down

Tucked away in the heart of County Down, the Hinch Distillery finds its home between the energetic pulse of Belfast and the serene beauty of the Mourne Mountains. This unique location perfectly captures its spirit: a duality of wild city nights and peaceful Sunday strolls. The county itself is steeped in a rich history and a heritage that provides the perfect backdrop for crafting a new generation of Irish spirits.

Hinch gets its name from the nearby town of Ballynahinch, which means ‘Town of the Island’ in Irish. This connection to the land and its heritage is at the core of everything Hinch Distillery creates. The brand proudly produces Irish whiskey in County Down, a region with a long and storied history as the distillation capital of the island.

The story of Hinch officially began in 2016, but its roots run much deeper, drawing from generations of Irish distilling tradition, passion, and a pioneering craftsmanship. With every drop, Hinch honors its past while looking to the future, crafting spirits designed to be shared with family and friends. This new chapter for Irish whiskey is inspired by history, but driven by a forward-thinking spirit.
