Who makes it?

Before Kosta Browne became a permanent fixture on Wine Spectator’s "Top 100 Wines" list (seven times and counting, including a casual "Wine of the Year" title in 2011), they were just two guys in 1997 saving up tip money to buy grapes. Fast forward to today, and they are officially North America’s undisputed royalty of premium Pinot Noir and luxury Chardonnay. Under the watchful eye of master winemaker Julien Howsepian, Kosta Browne has turned grape-sourcing into an art form, locking down the most coveted, cool-climate real estate across California. From their legendary estate properties like Gap’s Crown to exclusive partnerships with the region’s finest growers, this is a winery that doesn't just make California wine—they make liquid history.
How is it made?

To build this particular masterpiece, Kosta Browne played matchmaker with eight of the finest, most dramatic vineyards in the Sonoma Coast appellation—including legendary sites like Treehouse, Gap's Crown, and Thorn Ridge. Grown in the region's famous, ultra-draining Goldridge loam soils, these low-yielding Pinot Noir clones (including heritage Swan, Calera, and Pommard) endure heavy coastal rains and intense ocean fogs to develop insanely concentrated flavors. In the cellar, the winemaking team went full mad-scientist, using a precise cocktail of 81% stainless steel, 11% wood, and 8% concrete fermentation to lock in pure, site-specific terroir. The wine was then gently tucked away for 15 months of luxury aging in 38% new French oak and a touch of Austrian oak, resulting in a perfectly balanced 14.1% ABV stunner with seamless, structural elegance.
What does it taste like?

Pour a glass and brace yourself: this Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir hits the senses like a walk through a sun-drenched coastal forest right after a rainstorm. The nose ignites with a vibrant compilation of ripe red and blue fruits, backed by a subtle, earthy hint of forest rain. On the palate, it is deceptively soft and smooth before a bolt of pure, electric dark berry flavors—think wild boysenberry, blueberry, and fresh-cut strawberry—takes over the show. Deep, beautifully unified tannins add magnificent volume and a velvety texture, culminating in an uplifting, refined finish that lingers long after your glass is empty.
