Who makes it?

Born from a beautifully obsessive pursuit of perfection in 1997, Kosta Browne has spent nearly three decades cementing its reputation as one of North America’s most revered producers of luxury Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Seven times featured on Wine Spectator’s legendary "Top 100 Wines" list—including snagging the ultimate "Wine of the Year" crown in 2011—this Sonoma County powerhouse has officially mastered the art of bottling liquid gold. Under the visionary eye of Winemaker Julien Howsepian, Kosta Browne continues to craft highly coveted, ultra-premium wines that cause collectors to instantly check their bank balances and wine enthusiasts to lose their collective minds.

How is it made?

For this spectacular inaugural vintage, the winemaking team ventured outside California to exploit Oregon’s historic Willamette Valley, a literal Pinot Noir paradise forged thousands of years ago by catastrophic glacial floods that left behind an enchanting, nutrient-rich cocktail of volcanic Jory, marine-sediment Willakenzie, and silty Laurelwood soils. Combining an elite lineup of seven prestigious vineyards—including L'Angolo, Eola Springs, and Shea—this wine utilizes prized heritage clones like 115, Pommard, and 667. The grapes underwent meticulous stainless-steel fermentation with a sneaky 5% whole cluster inclusion for structural backbone, before being pampered for 12 months in 33% new French oak and finished with a brief, clarifying one-month rest in stainless steel to lock in its pristine 13.5% ABV character.

What does it taste like?

Pop the cork and prepare your senses for an absolute masterclass in complex aromatics and texture. The nose kicks things off with an elusive, bright burst of pomegranate, shifting into sophisticated notes of hibiscus tea, zesty orange rind, and a crisp hint of green apple skin. On the palate, it shifts gears into a deeper, moodier territory, delivering a velvety wave of freshly picked blackberries, dark plum, and savory black tea, all wrapped up in firm, flawlessly integrated tannins with an intellectual whisper of umami and sandalwood. It is vibrant, intensely complex, and so ridiculously good it might just ruin all other red wines for you.
