Who makes it?

Croix Barton represents a prestigious collaboration between two of the most storied names in French viticulture: the Schÿler and Barton families. This unique partnership brings together generations of shared savoir-faire and a deep-rooted passion for the Bordeaux region under a single, authentic label. Founded on a commitment to tradition and the art of "savoir-vivre," Croix Barton was created to offer wine lovers a genuine taste of Bordeaux history that can be enjoyed as an everyday luxury. By blending the expertise of these two winemaking dynasties, the brand delivers a sophisticated experience that remains grounded in emotion and heritage.

How is it made?

The character of this Bordeaux Rouge begins in the south of the Gironde, where vines thrive in a complex terroir of Pyrenean gravel atop a clay-limestone subsoil. The blend is meticulously crafted with 70% Merlot for suppleness and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon for structure. Every batch is hand-selected on the estate to ensure only the highest quality fruit makes it into the final assembly. In the cellar, the winemakers employ traditional vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by careful ageing. Regular racking and a delicate touch of oak are used to refine the wine, resulting in a polished finish that respects the natural vibrancy of the grapes.

What does it taste like?

On the pour, this wine displays a limpid, ruby-red hue that hints at its fresh and approachable character. The nose is greeted by a delightful bouquet of fresh red fruits, leading into a palate that is remarkably velvety and round. It strikes an elegant balance between soft tannins and crisp acidity, making it an incredibly versatile choice for any table. For the best experience, serve this Bordeaux at room temperature (19°C) alongside a variety of dishes, ranging from light starters to hearty red meats.
