Who makes it?

Nativ Srl, was born in the heart of Irpinia, in Southern Italy, by oenoligist Dr. Mario Ercolino and  food scientist Dr. Roberta Pirone. Their aim was to work closely with growers to create excellent expressions of the local wines.

The name Nativ was chosen to illustrate this dedication to local specialisms.

Founded in 2008, the company makes the typical wines of Southern Italy including Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo, Falanghina, Aglianico and Aglianico of Taurasi. They have a range of owned vineyards but also work with local growers to make sure grape quality is high.

How is it made?

The 100% aglianico grapes are cold macerated before a 20 day fermentation with selected yeasts. The wine then ages in 1 year old barrels for 14 months

What does it taste like?

A spicy wine with typical notes of cherry and black fruit smoothed out with slight notes of toasty oak.
