Who makes it?

Nativ Srl, was born in the heart of Irpinia, in Southern Italy, by oenoligist Dr. Mario Ercolino and  food scientist Dr. Roberta Pirone. Their aim was to work closely with growers to create excellent expressions of the local wines.

The name Nativ was chosen to illustrate this dedication to local specialisms.

Founded in 2008, the company makes the typical wines of Southern Italy including Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo, Falanghina, Aglianico and Aglianico of Taurasi. They have a range of owned vineyards but also work with local growers to make sure grape quality is high.

How is it made?

The name Suadens has been chosen to represent the suaveness of this wine, which is a molecular project aimed at valorizing not only the autochthonous vines of Irpinia, but also the typical local fruits, that aren’t cultivated anywhere else in the world.

A blend aglianico, piedirosso & sciascinoso, The whole bunches macerate before a cold fermentation with selected yeasts. The wine then ages in barrique for approximately 6 months.

What does it taste like?

The wine is fresh and fruity on the palate, well structured. It has hints of plum, wild blackberry, currant and light balsamic notes
