Who makes it?

Tenuta Ulisse, a modern expression of a centuries-old tradition of passion and dedication to the land, is one of Abruzzo’s premier winemaking estate. It has aggressively dived into the enormous potential of Abruzzo’s unique terroir and ancient varieties by placing a contemporary spin on indigenous grapes such as Montepulciano D’Abruzzo, Trebbiano D’Abruzzo, Pecorino, Passerina e Cococciola.

Pinot Grigio is one of Italy’s most prominent and most noble white wines. In the
climate of Abruzzo, the Pinot Grigio can develop its great aroma, powerful
structure and its typical character and charm.

How is it made?

Montepulciano grapes come from 40 year old vines that are hand harvested.

Fermentation is with wild yeasts in cement tanks. The wine ages in cement tanks and for 3 months in bottle before release.

What does it taste like?

Deep ruby red with developed rim. Nose of red plums, very intense yet nuanced with hints of fireplace ash. Surprising amount of fruit on the palate showing singed herbs alongside plum skin, dark cherry fruit, and liquorice.
