The story of the Sesti estate reads like a Hollywood script: a medieval hilltop fortress, a castle tower built circa 1200 AD that used to communicate via drum and fire, and a jungle of overgrown ruins lovingly rescued in the mid-1970s. When renowned astronomer Giugi Sesti (the reason for the stars on the iconic labels) and his English wife Sarah discovered this UNESCO-protected gem in the heart of Brunello country, they knew they had found something celestial. Today, their daughter Elisa Sesti commands the cellar, keeping up a family tradition that apparently stretches all the way to a great-great-grandmother who was the mayor of Shrewsbury, England! While the estate spans 102 hectares of pristine Tuscan woodland and olive groves, Elisa strictly limits the vines to just nine hectares.
