Who makes it?

Tenuta Ulisse is a leading winery in the Abruzzo region of Italy, known for its dedication to both tradition and innovation. The estate has a deep appreciation for its unique terroir and has focused on unlocking the potential of indigenous grape varieties like Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Pecorino, and Cococciola. By combining centuries-old winemaking passion with a modern approach, Tenuta Ulisse has established itself as one of Abruzzo’s premier estates.

How is it made?

This particular wine is crafted from a blend of Merlot and Montepulciano grapes, grown in vineyards that are 15-20 years old. The soil is deep and finely-textured, with a clayey surface layer and a high calcium content. The winemaking process is meticulously controlled to preserve the grapes' delicate characteristics. It begins with chilling the whole grapes in a cooling tunnel for immediate temperature drop and cold skin maceration. After destemming, the grapes are softly pressed in a low-pressure, inert environment before undergoing a cold, static decantation for 24-48 hours prior to fermentation. The wine is then aged for three months in stainless steel.

What does it taste like?

The wine presents a pale salmon color with a translucent clarity. On the nose, it offers delicate aromas of white flowers, fresh stone fruits, and citrus peel, complemented by a subtle hint of wet-stone minerality. Its structure is light and delicate, leading to a long and complex finish. This elegant rosé is versatile, serving as a delightful aperitif or a perfect pairing for a shared meal.
